Implementation of the Accounting Reform Russian Federation
This is the website for a European Union funded project designed to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture, with the intention of assisting the Russian Federation with the process of convergence with International Financial Reporting Standards. The project commenced in December 2005 and will run for a period of 25 months.

Accounting: Today and Tomorrow
"A great success"

The second annual project conference "Accounting: Today and Tomorrow" was held on Monday 10 December 2007 at the Swiss Hotel in Moscow.

There were more than 100 attendees who participated in some lively question and answer sessions.

The presentations of the keynote speakers Marc Franco (Ambassador and Head of EU Delegation) and Paul Boyle, the Chief executive of the UK''s regulation body, the Financial Reporting Council were particularly interesting and Paul spent much of his time answering many questions on regulation.

Andy Tyler (PwC Director) presented the results of the Project''s survey of 2000 accountants across Russia and the analysis and full survey report can be downloaded from this web site.

In conclusion Richard Gregson said, ""Much has been accomplished by the Project but it is important that the momentum of the change to IFRS is increased, if Russia is to see all of the benefits that this can bring" Many attendees expressed their personal satisfaction with the conference and gave their thanks to the organisers.
